Our non-profit partner is seeking a Medical Director for a key management position at the agency and part of the Leadership Team. 1-2 days of remote work will be considered. The Medical Director oversees various aspects within the program, ensuring compliance with regulations and high-quality medical services. Some responsibilities include: Medical Services Oversight : The Medical Director supervises all medical services provided by the program. Policy and Procedure Development : They oversee the creation and revision of medical policies, procedures, and training related to routine medical care, specialized services, medications, and emergency care. Collaboration : Collaborates with the Chief Clinical Officer and Director of Nursing to supervise non-medical staff in substance use disorder services. Staff Supervision : Provides supervision to medical staff, including contracted providers. Health Surveillance and Reporting : Ensures policies and procedures are in place for timely detection, referral of health issues, and adherence to medical orders. This includes reporting communicable diseases and infections. Public Health Education : Establishes policies and procedures for patient education and screening related to tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases, hepatitis, HIV, and harm reduction. Referral and Linkage : Assists in developing necessary referral relationships with other institutions and agencies (hospitals, nursing homes, health facilities, etc.). Legal Compliance : Ensures program compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Other duties assigned Qualifications : Must be licensed physician and currently registered as such by the NYS Education Department. Must be registered as a NYS Medicaid Provider. At least 1 year of education, training, and/or experience in substance use disorder services. At least 1 year of experience with Medication Assisted Treatment. Active federal DATA 2000 waiver (buprenorphine certified) preferred or must obtain such waiver within six months of employment. Must hold a subspecialty board certification in addiction psychiatry from one of the following: o the American Board of Medical Specialties, an addiction certification from the American Society of Addiction Medicine, a certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) Hold a subspecialty board certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Osteopathic Association. Physicians may be hired as probationary medical directors if not so certified but must obtain certification within four years of being hired.
