Job Description
The Housekeeping Public Space Attendant at American Airlines – The Landing at Skyview 6 is responsible for maintaining high standards in all assigned lobby areas, public restrooms, special cleaning assignments and performing Room Attendant duties as necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Performs cleaning tasks in public areas including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping.
- Returns food & beverage service items found in the public areas to the proper department.
- Must be attentive, helpful and be able to effectively verbally communicate with all level of employees and guests in a friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees.
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees and self.
- Report and deliver lost and found items to the Housekeeping office.
- Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
- Be familiar with correct guestroom cleaning procedures to assist if needed.
- Before leaving, collect all trash from the service landings and take to/dispose in outside trash dumpsters, per hotel procedures.
- Vacuum guest corridors.
- Keep hallways, public areas and closets neat and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms.
- Adhere to the schedule for project cleaning of public areas.
- Maintain the stairwells to hotel standards.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
Requirements:
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to communicate in basic conversational English.
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping a plus.
- Ability to move, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25-30 pounds.
- Ability to move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision.
- A part-time schedule that allows availability on holidays, and weekends based on the demands of the hotel.
