Salary: $16/hour

*This position will be on an as-needed basis . We are looking for a seasonal, on-call Office Assistant who is available with little notice to cover during certain holidays and/or to fill in for out-of-office coverage. Work is required 100% onsite in our Reston, VA office, so we require local candidates only.

Shifts are typically Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm but will vary depending on coverage needed.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Office Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by providing clerical support, managing front desk activities, and assisting with customer inquiries. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Duties

  • Greet and assist visitors at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of employee common areas such as kitchen supplies, coffee, snacks, refrigerators, etc.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Provide customer support by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars for staff members.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with company policies.
  • Help coordinating with the IT services provider to raise and resolve IT related issues ( Light lifting/moving of computer monitors, keyboards or other equipment may be required)
  • Support office management tasks to enhance overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a corporate receptionist is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clerical skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and office management software.
  • Excellent proofreading skills to ensure high-quality documentation.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer support with a friendly demeanor.
  • Strong typing skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and organizational tasks.
