What is this job?

Position Summary:

Provides direct childcare services, ensures that day to day supervision of residents is consistent with agency standards and effectively works as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Assumes the role of Unit Supervisor in their absence.

What is the Caminos Program?

You would be helping children who have recently migrated to the United States and are seeking opportunities for reunification with family as well as the chance to pursue their education and legal immigration cases. Everstand calls this our Caminos program, and we see it as a fulfillment of our purpose as a non-profit: to enrich communities, one family at a time.

What does this job do specifically?

Essential Functions:

  • Model and act in accordance with Everstand ’s core values: safety, empathy, relationships, and impact.

  • Consistently implements each resident’s treatment plan and completes documentation, as required, including facilitating Supportive Counseling Services, such as Individual and Group Supportive Counseling, as a Certified Supportive Counselor for residents
  • Accurately administers medication according to physician and/or nurse’s orders and documents the medication administration record (MAR), as a Certified AMAP (Training to be completed within 6 months acceptance of Lead TSS/ESS position).
  • Actively encourages and reinforces resident’s participation in maintaining established standards of cleanliness and orderliness in their living unit and the surrounding campus.
  • Ensures that each resident’s health needs are identified and met within the specified time frame.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the various programs at the Everstand in order to adequately orient staff and residents to the program.
  • Actively encourages and supports each resident’s need to achieve satisfactory academic performance.
  • Participates in the development of unit activities, recreation activities and spiritual life awareness while providing direct supervision as required.
  • Provides direct mealtime supervision to assure that residents are provided a balanced meal and that dining procedures are consistently followed.
  • Completes a thorough inventory for each resident’s belongings upon admission, discharge and on a quarterly basis.
  • Completes assigned unit system responsibilities and documentation, as needed.
  • Contributes to the prevention and management of challenging behaviors by implementing the everstand’s Behavior Support and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques.
  • Ability to organize staffing and therapeutic programming.
  • Able to engage children in positive decision making.
  • Obtain and maintain certification as a “user” in Everstand’s electronic health record software system, Cx360.
  • Promotes effective communication through compliance with logbook policy.
  • Fulfills the responsibility of Back Up Campus Supervisor On-Call on a rotating basis.

What shifts would I work? Are full time positions available?
  • We are hiring for FULL TIME (40 hours a week) positions with benefits!

Front end: Sun 9:00 am-10:30 pm; Mon 2:30 pm-10:30 pm; Tues 2:30 pm-10:30 pm Wed 12:00 pm -10:30 pm.

What experience and education do I need?

Required Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalency plus 3 years of working with youth in social service setting.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of working with youth in social service setting.
