We are looking for a Head of Boarding cum Primary Subject Teacher for an international school based in Shenzhen. This is a full-time position starting from the upcoming academic year in August 2024. About the school The international school, situated in the Nanshan Zone, is spread over an area of 14,700 square meters and offers esteemed IGCSE and A Level international curriculum. It is set up to accommodate up to 900 students, featuring superior resources for Early Years to Sixth Form with boarding services. The campus offers a comprehensive approach to education, with sports and recreational grounds, library and common rooms, as well as cafeterias and lecture halls. This gives students the opportunity to move between different learning and activities areas, allowing them to learn, work together, and interact in a relaxed manner. About the role The Head of Boarding cum Subject Teacher seamlessly integrates the responsibilities of managing the school's boarding facilities with their passion for teaching primary school subjects. As the Head of Boarding, you'll be a key figure in students' academic and residential life, ensuring a supportive and educational environment both inside and outside the classroom. Teach subjects like English, science/social studies, personal/social class, math, and homeroom sessions to primary school students ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experiencePreparing lessons and lectures, tutoring techniques, designing and correcting assessments, and writing report commentsCollaboratively teach alongside fellow educators, actively contributing to the development and enhancement of the school's curriculumAssess and monitor students’ progress and provide targets so that all learners can succeed and improveProvide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents and caregiversDevelop supportive and safe learning environmentsManage boarding student well-being in support of academic excellencePastoral Policy making and system development for Boarding staffPeople management and capacity building of boarding staffCommunicate effectively with parents regarding all matters relating to boardingLead on developing an outstanding boarding curriculum and English reading program for each Grade level in Boarding Requirements Bachelor degree or aboveAppropriate degree, with primary education teacher training (in English language education) internationally recognized, or other equivalent teaching qualificationAt least 2 years of relevant teaching experienceExcellent communication English skillsEligible to apply working visa Salary and benefits Market competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualificationsFree accommodation provided for the first yearSecond year housing allowance provided up to 7,000 RMB per monthSummer and winter holidaysNational public holidaysHealth insuranceResidence and work permit sponsoredAnd other benefits
