Job Description

Join Our Team as a Field Interviewer and Make a Difference!

Are you passionate about connecting with people and contributing to groundbreaking research? We are hiring Field Interviewers in the Green Bay, WI area to support the prestigious Wisconsin Longitudinal Study (WLS) .

As a Field Interviewer, you will play a vital role in gathering important data that has shaped decades of social science research. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with study participants, build meaningful connections, and be part of a project that explores life experiences, health, and well-being across generations.

The Wisconsin Longitudinal Study (WLS) is one of the most comprehensive social science studies, tracking 10,317 Wisconsin high school graduates from 1957 through 2023. It examines life courses, intergenerational relationships, family dynamics, health, and socio-economic factors such as education, work, and retirement. Data have been collected from original respondents, their parents, siblings, and spouses across multiple decades.

The current phase, WLS Time 3 TICS CAPI , involves in-home interviews for non-respondents to conduct a concurrent telephone survey. Interviewers will visit participants' homes to conduct a 30–45-minute cognitive status interview using Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). Participants receive a $25 incentive to complete the survey. Interviewers will be expected to travel locally, and across the state of Wisconsin in their own car (mileage reimbursed at the federal rate of $0.70 per mile), and at times be expected to travel nationally by plane to areas where respondents live.

Paid virtual training begins in mid-February 2025, followed by mandatory paid in-person training in Madison, WI, from February 24–28, with hotel, travel, and meals reimbursed. Applicants must commit to working 25–35 hours per week, including evenings and weekends, from March 1, 2025, until March 2026. All necessary equipment and study materials will be provided.

The compensation for this position is $20-22 per hour.
