Are you passionate about numbers and have an eye for detail? We are currently seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and motivated Entry Level AP/AR Specialist to join our thriving Accounting + Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial transactions, and will be responsible for managing both the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to grow their career in the finance industry.
Responsibilities:
As an AP/AR Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining accurate financial records by processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reviewing and verifying invoices and check requests, setting invoices up for payment, and tracking expenses and process expense reports.
- Preparing and performing check runs, reconciling accounts payable transactions, and monitoring accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Producing monthly reports and assisting with month-end and year-end closings.
- Processing accounts receivable transactions, preparing bills and invoices, and conducting collection efforts.
- Communicating with clients and vendors about billing discrepancies and questions.
- Initiating and managing financial and accounting software systems.
- Assisting with other accounting projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1+ years of experience in an AP/AR role or related field.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel.
- Experience with accounting software, and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Excellent data entry skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive approach to work, with a strong drive to exceed expectations and deliver excellent results.
