We are actively hiring an Arabic (Levantine) Linguist to join our team working in Reston, VA. You will be responsible for supporting a government agency and your office with translation, transcription, and/or interpretation services.

• Linguists will provide essential language skills exeperience, knowledge and expertise.Linguist witll provide translation, transcription and interpretation services from one (or more) language to English and vice versa. Candidate must have native-level language skills along with a good understanding of culture, dialect and slang in both written and spoken mediums. Linguist shall be required to travel 25%.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
• Linguist must be proficient in the Levantine dialect
• Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree desired.
• Interpretation between source language and English
• Transcription into English
• Translation into English
• Language Training
• Summarizing/Gisting while drawing upon linguistic or cultural expertise
• Translation Related Services (TRS)
• Subject Matter Expertise in areas of Counterterrorism and Sponsor Operations/Targeting

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Preference will be given to candidates who can engage in casual, informal written or verbal conversation with native speakers
• Monitoring  published, online and broadcast media while identifying relevant content
• Terminology Management
• Writing Reports
• Transcription into source language
• Translation into source language
